Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 96, “What Is Waste of Barn and Winery, in the Work”: The basis upon which He built the order of the work was in the lowest manner, and all of it was above reason. Only one who is a real fool can be so low as to proceed without any basis on which to establish one’s faith, literally with no support.

Additionally, he accepts this work with great joy, as though he had had real knowledge and vision on which to establish the certainty of faith. And to that exact measure of above reason, to that very measure as though he had reason. Hence, if he persists in this path, he can never fall. Rather, he can always be in gladness, by believing that he is serving a great King.

We have to descend from the height of our ego, our confidence that we know and understand everything, that we have everything under control. It should be to such an extent that we come to the recognition of total hopelessness, absolute zero, 100% lowliness. To the extent that our previous knowledge was great, to that extent we are now going against our reason and are happy about it, feeling sure that it is the right thing.

We don’t want to count on anything that comes from our desire to receive. It is because everything that comes from it is undoubtedly a lie, no matter how true and real it may seem.

Of course it is possible to descend so low and ascend to faith only by the Light that Reforms, but we don’t have any power to do that since we have nothing but our ego. We can only check ourselves by the joy that we feel when we return to the same problems, the same mistakes, understanding better each time to what extent we have to be in a state of lowliness.

All this has to be in faith above reason: the extent to which I am able to I disregard my mind. I accept my mind, but only in order to work above it and advance accordingly. It is impossible to acquire the attributes of bestowal without passing the zero point of self-lowliness.

It is the same point that is called an embryo (Ibur), conception. This level constantly appears before us each time, with new conditions and new depth of desire (Aviut). We descend to “zero,” and we have to justify our past, which is called to bestow in order to bestow, and then justify the past for the others, called to receive in order to bestow. This means that first we correct the mistakes, and then we turn the mistakes into merits.

But when we change them to merits, we bring them to lowliness since it is only the Creator who does and determines everything. So the structure that we build is based on this point of lowliness, on the state of the embryo that grows and increasingly annuls itself.

Opinion (Angela Merkel, German chancellor): “Countries in the eurozone must accept that Europe “has the last word” and need to work together more closely if the continent is to avoid going into decline, German chancellor Angela Merkel has warned.

“In the latest signal that Germany backs stricter Europe-wide controls over national budgets, the chancellor said that eurozone members had to be prepared to surrender authority to European institutions.

“Speaking at an event hosted by Deutsche Bank in Berlin alongside Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Mrs Merkel said: ‘We seem to find common solutions when we are staring over the abyss. But as soon as the pressure eases, people say they want to go their own way.’

“’We need to be ready to accept that Europe has the last word in certain areas. Otherwise we won’t be able to continue to build Europe.’

“She said: ‘We don’t always need to give up national practices, but we need to be compatible. It is chaos right now. We need to be prepared to break with the past in order to leap forward. I’m ready to do this.”

My Comment: The “patching” of the union is starting, and only in making macroeconomic decisions and resolving acute crises. But this is the beginning, and then the crisis will point to the need for further unification. This is how the EU elite will learn, like stubborn children, although common sense says that the union should begin with the strengthening of its foundation: a united culture and a united effort towards good and equal unification of nations.

This is achieved by gradual integral education and upbringing. Nature demands us to change precisely our egoistic nature, requires us to become its integral part and resemble it. The crisis is no more than the external manifestation of our egoistic relationships.

Question: The founder of homeopathy, Hahnemann, wrote the book the The Organon of the Healing Art, and its story is very similar to what happened with The Book of Zohar. After Hahnemann’s death, the last and most updated version was kept in the attic of his home for a long time. Only years later, one of his great-grandchildren found and published it. Hahnemann added to this version the basics of the soul or of spirituality. He is the father of homeopathy, and no one has spoken about it before him. How can you define this concept, which seems to have a mystic meaning?

Answer: Homeopathy operates on us by forces that we don’t feel. Although they are transmitted by material carriers, it is impossible to discern them and to measure them. If you take a homeopathic medicine, you will not find anything in it except for the carrier, like sugar for example. So, we can understand why people regard such influences as mystic.

But there is nothing mystic about it. The point is that we don’t have the tools by which we can determine what the energy in the carrier is. If I take an ordinary chemical medicine, I can determine what it is made of in any laboratory. With a homeopathic medicine, any carrier can be the material—for example, a piece of wood. Although there is nothing “chemical” about it, if I suck it or even touch it, I will receive its inner energy, and it will influence me.

This is where the seemingly “mystic” process lies. I receive energy through the contact with its carrier. This effect can be transmitted by touch, by nerves, and the best way is through the nerve ends below the tongue.

We make up a huge system, a giant computer. Each of the organs operates on a certain frequency, and homeopathic medicine influences all these organs.

On the whole, however, when we speak about the whole body whose individual organs cooperate with one another, and each cell knows everything that happens in every other cell, then we must imagine all this as one system that is mutually connected, operating on frequencies and waves, and completely interacting within itself.

Question: Can ten or more people who think positive about someone who is ill have an effect on him?

Answer: Yes, but where will you find ten such people whose influence would be strong enough to really manifest and be measurable?

I knew an American professor who received government funding for conducting similar studies in different places around the world. He carried out about sixty studies of the influence of masses who share similar ideas over different parts of the globe. However, honestly, I wasn’t interested in his results. I don’t believe that it is possible to come up with any real conclusions here. He may have had some statistical data, but nothing more than that. How can we measure the impact of such phenomena, how  it manifests, as the evil or the good eye?

It is impossible to discover any connection since an ordinary person cannot discover such an influence and cannot work with it; he cannot accumulate it, measure it, or compare it. It is possible only if one is on the level of a group whose members work together on gradually developing a common sensory “organ” which can feel new attributes and new common characteristics. The connection that is created between them can influence any of them. Then, this group becomes a detector.

Question: What do you think about a family? Is a family with its natural ties considered a group, or is it not enough?

Answer: If a member of the family is ill, the other members also may feel bad, of course. This is common knowledge, and doctors know and understand this. Moreover, they also say that cancer is spread on an energetic level.

If we look around us, we can see that pets, for example, suffer from the same maladies as their owners. If the owner is depressed, then their cat or dog also will suffer from the same malady, although animals normally do not suffer from depression. This means that illness is transmitted on an energetic level.
