When Fashion Goes Out Of Fashion

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Today many superfluous products are targeted at women: fashion clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, diet food, and so on. Will women really give up all these things?

Answer: If we follow people’s true desires, everything will happen simply and smoothly. Today’s fashion is imposed upon us by those who make money from it. Actually, there is nothing truly beautiful and useful in fashion. We are talking about an artificial desire that is being imposed upon the public. Fashion is unnatural; it doesn’t stem from human nature.

Of course, a woman wants to be beautiful and to wear jewelry. It has been this way for ages, but without the madness that accompanies it today. Today new rules are constantly being dictated to us, forcing us to compete, which in the end only bring us closer to the collapse. We are being bought and sold; they are driving us crazy with all these different fashions. It has gone too far, and it isn’t by chance that the young generation doesn’t take it seriously any more, although the fashion and the cosmetics industries still make billions of dollars.

Let the Light work, and you will see how fashion becomes irrelevant, just like many other forms of egoism.

  1. In the same direction, I’ve been talking with my husband about “gold” – 2 days ago;

    Gold has no value by itself and hopefully it will disappear from the market with the awakening of people out of that slaving illusion.

    What’s the purpose of covering oneself or others with gold like an idol? Vanity, vanity!

  2. You’re right. It is “imposed” upon us. People are actually rewarded with kindness from others for “looking” good in clothing and things. And, althought I appreciate fashion and beauty products. I try not to go overboard. Because, why should my likeability be based upon how I look to someone else? If they are only going to be kind to me because I wear something expensive, then they aren’t really liking me for who I am. I wear both pricier and non expensive things combined. But, to do an experiment on this socially. I wore really cheap clothes for about a week. $3 shirt $2 purse. And told myself I wanted people to treat me well based on my personality not what I was wearing, and it worked! In fact, now I wonder if I don’t get treated better when I’m wearing the less expensive stuff. During the time I was wearing the stuff, I was just myself and tried to be nice to everyone in a way that I would want to be treated. I’d rather have someone judge me based on my character than something superficial like material things. Unfortunately, we live in a world that encourages fakeness.
