Don’t Get Distracted By The Sharp Turns

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe states of “Israel” and “nations of the world” constantly alternate inside a person and this process does not depend on him. All he has to do is “push down on the gas,” strive forward with everything he’s got. To do that, one needs a strong connection with the group and relentless thought about spiritual advancement in the direction of bestowal. That is how the principle “Israel, Torah, and the Creator are one” is realized, which is the Creator’s command.

The more efforts a person makes, the more often these two states alternate. That’s when it is important not to let either of them knock you off track, not to wish to remain in either state, and not get stuck in either of them.

One must always see the goal ahead of him and aspire directly to it, even though the path is curvy and crooked. Every person is whirled about by his own Reshimot, as if he is advancing down a winding tunnel. There is nowhere to escape to and you only aspire forward, not making any calculations on the sharp turns.

Perhaps you want to stop, to experience the current state, to study it and “chew it up.” But that will never help. Try to go through all the places at full speed and don’t worry if you are unfamiliar with the path.

The only way to understand anything is from a higher level. A child never knows what developmental stage he is now going through. He understands only the previous stages. That is why older children can be instructors for younger ones. The best thing is to set up this kind of interaction between adjoining levels.

Therefore, we always aspire only forward, until the very end of correction. Only there will we reveal all the roots, all the initial, intermediate, and final states. When they interweave into one whole, then you will reveal the system in an instant and understand everything. Until then there is no truth that you can rely on.

All The Worlds Are Between Us

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Zohar, Introduction, Article “Yitro (Jethro)”: The Zohar explains the order of the emanation of the Partzufim of Atzilut: Atik, AA, AVI, and ZA, how the source of everything, the Masach of Malchut of Midat ha Din, uses Partzuf Atik, operates in AA to conceal the Hochma there… Afterwards, it explains VAK de ZA concerning six curtains, and the embroidered curtain, GAR de ZA.

The authors of The Book of Zohar revealed the order of relationships between them and inside the connection among each other they revealed Partzufim, worlds, qualities, and inner discernments. All of this is present between a person and others.

When a person sees others as connected together, it is called “the World of Infinity.” If he sees them as connected partially, it is called Partzufim that are above him. That is how they speak to each other, revealing every quality and calling it “Rabbi Yossi, Rabbi Hiya, Rabbi Elazar, Rabbi Shimon,” as well as various pictures of nature.

All of these are states that our souls go through in the process of their correction. I know from my personal experience how difficult it is for a person to depict a very simple picture in his imagination: that there is nothing besides the separated souls. Their total division is perceived by them as our world. Their partial unification, the inclusion of the desires into one another by the principle “Love your neighbor as yourself” creates the sensation of the Upper World in the souls.

Their total unity is perceived by the souls as the World of Infinity: unbounded, unlimited unity, and accordingly, total fulfillment by Light.

Light Assisted Education

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is it in the wisdom of Kabbalah that allows it to develop a child so quickly, turning him or her into a human being?

Answer: It’s the Light that Reforms. A Kabbalistic education develops a child’s human level, drawing the Light upon him from the upper degree, and, thus, all the lower degrees seem easy to him.

Besides, he learns the sciences. It may seem to us that studying Kabbalah has nothing to do with biology or chemistry, but a child is studying scientific principles, the fundamentals of nature: the desire to bestow, the desire to receive, the universal connection, and the technique of “above reason.” These are the basic laws of creation, and, afterward, when the child studies certain physical or chemical laws, they come to him easily.

He is not intimidated by them as something unknown and difficult to understand. He approaches them lightly, from the top down, possessing the universal, basic knowledge that desire and its fulfillment are the fundamentals of nature. All of nature, accordingly, is a picture of their interaction, their correspondence. It greatly simplifies a child’s comprehension of the world and changes his outlook on life.

We need to give the world compelling evidence: to organize groups open for large numbers of children from around the world to enroll in our system. All of them will have different backgrounds and speak different languages, but they will study according to one method.

Then, we will demonstrate their achievements compared to all other education systems. We will showcase what kind of children they are and what happened to them, examining the process they went through.

In parallel, we will track what happened to their classmates left to study in the regular educational system. We’ll compare how our group succeeded in life and how it progressed all that time without any problems and crises to what happened to the others.

The criterion is not how highly educated a person is and what profession he acquired. That doesn’t guarantee happiness. Another way to look at it is to inquire whether a person is satisfied with his or her life and has found himself standing firmly on his feet, mastered a normal profession, and built a family. We’ll check what percentage of them lost their way in life. Let them talk to people and see how they have turned out.

How Can We Influence Our Children?

Let’s Go With The Light!

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe purpose of creation, the goal of an all-inclusive, comprehensive nature is to bring us in balance at all levels: the still, vegetative, animate, and human. We, at our human (speaking) degree, corrupt nature, and this corruption expands from us down to all lower levels. We ourselves already feel it.

Since we belong at the animate level, we experience all pain at the still, vegetative, and animate degrees. As to the human degree, we have to achieve it by becoming similar to the Creator in our qualities. The way to accomplish it lies in our unification.

That is why in the recent times, once we have arrived at the evolution of the human level in humanity, we also start experiencing suffering in it. Not only nature, but humanity and all its systems as well are in a deep, general crisis that we witness today.

There is no doubt that nature, this omnipotent force that includes us too, will win and bring us to the final destination. But we have an opportunity to reach this goal consciously, by cultivating the human within us. We can’t reach the goal if some force keeps dragging us forward or pushing us from behind. It won’t work. Either way, the pain will become so intense that it won’t allow us to remain in apathy and idleness.

We will have to act and realize that each action carries the intention of the Creator, His objective, and we will have to accept it willingly, not through being forced into it. All forces of nature will pressure us and force us to evolve.

Therefore, we have two paths to the goal: pain or pleasure, “Beito” (in its time) or “Achishena” (ahead of time). But this doesn’t mean that we can walk the path of “Beito” and some day, at the right time, we’ll achieve the goal. No, it won’t work since to walk the path of “Beito” means that each moment brings me tremendous suffering so I may learn from it. Frankly, until now, that is exactly how we have been developing.

If we were to evolve by this method, the wisdom of Kabbalah would not have been revealed to us. But the program of creation dictates that with this wisdom we can transition from the path of suffering to the path of the Light, by choosing the path of correction and not waiting for the blows to continue falling on us with each small step we take.

Of course, it isn’t an easy path. Nevertheless, when we acquire an anti-egoistic screen, and with its help can control our nature, the path becomes easy, pleasant, and short.

What Path Will You Take?

There, Beyond The Clouds…

Dr. Michael LaitmanWe read The Zohar with the Sulam Commentary where the source text, The Book of Zohar itself, written in the language of Talmud, and Baal HaSulam’s commentary, written in the language of Kabbalah, interweave with one another like threads in a tapestry. We receive the text in a ready-made form with these two languages intermixed with each other. But when you read or listen to it, it’s as if two pictures or two screens arise before you like on a computer — the inner and the outer.

On the outer screen you read the text in the language of the Talmud, while on the inner one it is talking about spiritual qualities and actions in the terminology of Kabbalah. These two screens gradually start to unite as one for you, and that helps you to start bringing the observation of the outer picture of the world closer to the inner observation.

You read The Zohar and it helps you start perceiving the outer reality as happening inside you. Gradually this influences you and you suddenly begin relating to the world the same way as well.

It’s as if you go through a cloud and find the true reality, the authentic perception of reality. And The Zohar accompanies you.

Was There Really Adam HaRishon?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What beacme of Adam HaRishon after his transgression?

Answer: We describe it as if there is Adam before and after the sin. Eve, the snake, the apple, the Tree of Life, the Garden of Eden: In truth, none of them exist.

A system descends from Above and it arranges spiritual degrees by diminishing the Lights in the vessels (Kelim). By employing free will, we acquire a new Kli, wherein various phenomena occur. Until then, there is nothing but the Creator, Elokim.

And indeed, who can perceive Adam in spirituality? If we don’t exist in the spiritual world, nothing does, except some abstract idea we can say nothing about. Everything exists solely in relation to a person.

How then do Kabbalists know about the system’s descent from Above downward? They can do so based on their authentic attainment from below upward. But can one talk about something which had existed before he did? A Kabbalist attains the events of the spiritual world and describes them; afterward, I, too, comprehend what he has written. For me, he is part of the very same system of Adam.

Any Kabbalist passing the knowledge of a spiritual reality to me is a system rather than a person. We should also view the friends and the whole world in this way. We are a system. By working in it correctly, we manifest the correct results. But if we act incorrectly, the results will be erroneous as well.

Kabbalists attain the roots within themselves, in their Kelim. Nothing can exist outside of my Kli. Having created a Kli, something immediately manifests in it within me. I realize that its roots are in the world of Infinity (Ein Sof) and it undergoes degrees of reduction while it travels down to me.

However, if I don’t have a string of connection with Infinity, then there are no worlds between us either. They exist only if I awaken them to life, if I want to tap into the Creator. Then, a connection is immediately established between us, and it, in fact, is the system of the worlds.
