Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Book of Zohar, Introduction, Article “The Rose,” Item 1: These five lights are the light that the Creator created on the first day. Adam was watching it from the end of the world to its end.

Question: Why does it say, “from the end of the world to its end,” and not “from the beginning of the world to its end”?

Answer: In our perception, we exist between the attributes of judgment and mercy, between the two lines. Our entire world “fits” between the forms of these borders.

Hence, in a given context, we cannot see the world from the beginning to the end. In each state the world is limited by the bounds of our Kli (vessel), which we are able to detect.

Establishing A New Coordinate Axis

Dr. Michael LaitmanEvery person in this world has to reveal the Creator in his or her sensations and have no doubts that he feels and understands Him. Attainment is the deepest and ultimate level of our perception.

All my organs of perception – the feelings, mind or intellect, and heart – have to be filled with absolute spiritual revelation. All doubts, contradictions, past questions, and clarifications get dissolved, and I arrive at the complete, final fulfillment and ultimate understanding. The entire desire to enjoy created by the Creator has evolved and has been filled completely.

If a person has no need for such revelation, he can continue living an ordinary life. I wish him luck from the depth of my heart. However, if he is not satisfied with such a life, if he wants to know what he is living for, what the meaning of his life is, then he must reveal the root, the source of life, and for this, he needs the wisdom of Kabbalah. If he cannot find answers to these questions in religion, “spiritual” methods, various hobbies, or drugs, he remains empty and needs to reveal the meaning of life.

There are many phenomena in nature, the revelation of which requires additional devices: telescopes or microscopes. However, there is something that I’m unable to discover because nature is much more complex than I.

It’s not because it acts within a wider range, where certain locators could be of use. Nature is full of phenomena that I cannot even envision since I’m built according to three axes; this is how my brain is structured.

However, a point awakens in me and insists that all of my current knowledge is not enough. I see that conventional science does not satisfy me. This point is from another dimension.

In it, there are no three coordinate axes, time, motion, or place; it’s something completely different. It’s not just a space with a few additional axes, compressed or expanded. Rather, it is a totally different reality completely unconnected to the one that exists here.

And if I can investigate this upper reality, am I not a scientist? Of course, I am, and a true one!

You Will See A Reverse World….

Dr. Michael LaitmanWe exist inside a system of forces, in the only place that the Creator created – Malchut of Infinity, which is in a completely corrected state (Gmar Tikkun). We are opposite to it and are in concealment behind 125 levels that conceal this true state from us. I do not feel the true state I am in, and because of my sensation I am behind 125 degrees of concealment, filters that lower everything, placing me inside fog and confusion.

I have to remove these concealments and do it in such a way that I will absorb them inside, turning them into revelations. I have to do this with every state, every veil, and every degree.

After going through all of these concealments I became completely opposite to the true state due to the opposition of my inner qualities. Yet, if I take this concealment upon myself and desire to ascend above it with the help of the Light, then all of the concealment transforms to knowledge, sensation, revelation, and attainment.

That is how we advance from total detachment (with the exception of the spiritual spark that awakens in us) until the highest level. However, the concealments do not become revealed to me from within this world. I have to leave this world completely. These concealments become revealed between myself and the Light, or between me and the Creator.

That is why Kabbalists say, “Leave this world alone, don’t correct it! It is not subject to correction!” You have to correct only your attitude to the Upper One, the Creator. You have to turn the disturbance you see between you into revelation. This disturbance is a layer of matter, your ego, separating the two of you. That is why we do not correct this world and, in fact, we do not have to do anything to it. The more you work on your connection with the Creator, the more the Light will shine for you and you will see a different, reverse world.

The Place Where I Discover The Creator

Dr. Laitman with StudentsQuestion: If during the lesson a person feels anger and hatred toward the friends, how can he build the intention directed toward unity?

Answer: First of all, one needs to see himself in this. Then, he has to envision a correct picture: I and the Creator are positioned on the opposite poles, and in between us, there is the group. I form my attitude toward the group until I see the Creator in it. Indeed, this is the Place where I reveal Him and the Upper World.

On one hand, in order to unite with the friends, I can subject the group to criticism: Our effort is not unified enough. But on the other, how can I make sure that I am not just nagging or sliding the mud of my egoism on the friends?

I see it from their feedback, from how they raise the importance of the goal in my eyes. Then, having being imbued with the importance of the goal, I turn to the group in order to find the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif) that Reforms between us.


Thanks to the impact of the Light I undergo changes and again turn to the friends to reveal the Creator between them. This ends the initial cycle of my analysis. Then, the next Reshimo (spiritual gene, record) awakens, and a new round begins.

The Phases Of War With Pharaoh

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What does it mean to reveal broken desires or Kelim? Do we reveal them in our aspiration to attain the Creator or in the desire to unite with one another?

Answer: We reveal our broken Kelim only in the desire to unite with each other in order to attain the Creator. And we reveal them more and more each time.

Let’s say that at the recent convention we discovered that on one hand we would like to unite, but on the other hand we do not desire it. Something on the inside stops us; there is some enemy, hater, inner stupor, or Machsom that does not let me come closer to others and unite with them.

This is the first plague of the ten Egyptian plagues or blows to Pharaoh (Pharaoh is the name of the one stopping me). I feel that he does not let me unite with others, even though I don’t yet fully realize: why I have to unite with them, where is the Creator here, and how is it possible to bestow to Him. For now I only have an aspiration to unite.

It will happen differently the second time. We want to unite and we have to be together to attain spirituality because spirituality becomes revealed only in the unity among us. This will become a little bit clearer to us. On the other hand, we will once again feel that something stops us. We demand, “Free us!” But he does not let us go.

The Creator continuously reveals a more powerful ego inside us, “hardening Pharaoh’s heart.” Then we will go out and attack again, and this does not have to happen only at a convention. We will then see that we are unable to do it ourselves; we need an external force. So where is this external force? We begin to desire for the Creator to unite us; then we will break through the Machsom.

Next time we will begin to feel that breaking the Machsom means breaking the Machsom between us. We shouldn’t attack some external boundary. The Machsom is between us, in our hearts, which are isolated from each other by an egoistic boundary.

Afterward, by making another attack, we will feel that we do not need all of this for ourselves; we don’t need it in order to unite and reveal spirituality, but in order to bestow to the Creator through it. This is the “last stop.”

All of this becomes revealed gradually. Once we reveal all of these phases in practice and experience them to the fullest, we will thereby create the right desire, Kli, or vessel for receiving the Light. Otherwise you cannot reveal the Light. The Light is abundantly present, but you have to reveal the right desire or Kli for it; you have to attain the same frequency or the same quality. This is possible only through the actions that come to us as they create a true desire in which the Light will become revealed.

So let us get ready to make the next attack on Pharaoh!

Disturbances Are The Creator’s Language

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What does it mean to be above disturbances?

Answer: Above disturbances means that I take them, process them, keep them, and stay above them as if I am atop the waves.

I don’t erase them. They remain inside me and by ascending above them I come in touch with the Light, the Creator, the One who bestows to me. He gives me these disturbances so that above them I would come closer to Him.

The disturbances are a language. The Creator awakens my inner qualities that are opposite to Him. If I ascend above these opposite qualities, then I come in touch with Him.

For now this contact is not felt very much, yet nevertheless through it I begin to feel His attitude. I begin to value these disturbances because precisely they bring me contact with the Creator. Without them I would never come in touch with Him.

The disturbances show me what separates us, what prevents us from coming in touch with each other. If I ascend above them, then I overcome the obstacle and acquire a certain connection with the Creator.

Therefore, we have to be grateful for all the disturbances; we have to process them correctly and treat them as an obstacle that we have to ascend over in order to attain a connection with the Creator.

The quality that separates me from the Creator becomes the quality that connects us if I ascend above it. In spite of the thing that seems like a disturbance to me, I perceive it not as a disturbance, but as a means to create a connection with the Creator.

If I cancel myself and desire to be above the disturbances, then I “swim” above them as a wooden chip on waves, constantly being in touch with the air. Therefore, I don’t erase the disturbances, but am above them. I need them in order to ascend above them.

Kabbalah Moments: Cleave Onto Him

Let The Upper Light Be Your Teacher

Dr. Michael LaitmanWhy should we treat each other nicely? We should do it only in order to attain adhesion with the Creator. Why do I come to the group? It’s only for the sake of the Creator.

If I have other reasons, then I am the same as the Communists in Russia who built the society of the future for their own sake. That is why they are still dealing with the consequences to this day. The only way to correct them is by "fire with fire," meaning with the right kind of communism – Kabbalah.

The Creator must be our goal! Otherwise there are horrible blows awaiting us. The example of that is Russia, which had invested gigantic efforts, means, and money, and made it the topic of discussion everywhere: on the radio and television, in kindergartens, schools, songs, plays, and everything else that people did. Everything summoned people to do just one thing: Let’s unite and be friends!

But look at what happened. Man did not accept any of it and everything immediately turned to egoism even though it seemed like good, proper education that taught everyone: Let’s live in peace all together as one family.

If the Creator does not stand at the head of everything, being the source of the Light that changes a person, then what’s the use of empty words? They do not match the real facts!

As a result, it becomes necessary to make a person follow them coercively through punishment, suppression, and force. We have to draw conclusions from this about what is the right education and how it applies down to the smallest details.

The only way to educate anyone is through example. And you don’t just show your personal example because if a child learns how to behave as you do, this will not be inner correction; he will simply imitate you. Tomorrow he will see a bad example and will copy it as well.

On the other hand, if he has corrected himself and understood it, then he is already protected until that level.
